1Your Disability Ratings

Select an extremity if applicable, then click any rating percentage — it's added to your list instantly. Repeat for each service-connected disability.

Official VA method (38 CFR § 4.25): Disabilities are arranged by severity and combined sequentially using Table I. Each rating is applied to your remaining efficiency — not added directly. Example: 60% + 30% → Row 60 × Col 30 = 72% (not 90%), rounded to 70%.
A right thigh and left foot can count as bilateral disabilities because they affect paired lower extremities. The same rule applies to paired upper extremities.

No disabilities added yet.

2Dependent Information

Dependents increase monthly compensation for combined ratings of 30% or higher.

A veteran may receive up to 3 SMC-K awards simultaneously.

4Employability (TDIU)

Total Disability Individual Unemployability may entitle you to 100% compensation even if your combined rating is below 100%.

TDIU Eligibility: Generally requires either one service-connected disability rated at 60% or more, or multiple service-connected disabilities with one rated at least 40% and a combined rating of 70% or more, and the service-connected disabilities must prevent substantially gainful employment.
